Twice a year, Shopify releases Shopify Editions, where they celebrate a huge drop of updates, improvements, and new features. It’s exciting, but many merchants find it information overload – especially since it also covers features for Shopify developers.

With so much information in front of you at once, it can be daunting to sort through and see what is the best and most relevant for your store. That’s where we come in. As a Shopify Premier Partner, Fyresite has gone through Shopify Editions: Spring 2026 to see what updates and features will give the most benefits to merchants.

Sidekick Works With Shopify Apps

Sidekick, Shopify’s generative AI assistant, now works with a number of Shopify apps. This allows Sidekick to perform actions and answer your questions directly within specific Shopify apps. Some of the most popular apps that now work with Sidekick are Klayvio, Judge.me, and Matrixify.

SKU Sharing Across Locations

Instead of duplicating items across multiple locations, Shopify now requires SKU sharing across locations. This works for

  • Dropshipping apps
  • 3PL services
  • Custom fulfillment services
  • Print-on demand services

This allows each location to have their own inventory count without duplicating products and adding confusion.

Batch Fulfillment Workflows

A long-awaited improvement, Shopify is now allowing merchants to fulfill orders in batches. The batches allow merchants to group up to 250 fulfillments based on a number of criteria.

This allows for an easy fulfillment workflow: pick, print, and pack.

This feature is still in early access, so it is only available to certain stores at this moment.

Deeper Dispute Insights for Chargebacks

Chargebacks are the bane of every merchant. This update helps connect merchants with deeper insights from the card-issuing banks, allowing them to understand the chargeback better and be more equipped to dispute it.

With this extra information, merchants can upload relevant evidence to dispute the claim, and even receive information on what went wrong if the dispute is denied and the chargeback goes through.

Shop Sign-In With Shopify Catalog

Agentic commerce has been transforming eCommerce spaces. Shopify is leveraging both agentic commerce and Shop Pay with this new feature.

Shopify’s Catalog API allows customers to login with Shop, a one-tap checkout method made by Shopify. This allows customers who are signed into Shop to see personalized shopping recommendations.
