What data can be migrated to Shopify?
Products, variants, images, customers, full order history, reviews, blog and page content, and discount structures all move. So does the custom data most importers ignore: metafields, fitment tables, B2B price lists and configuration logic. We also carry your URL structure across through a full 301 redirect map, so search equity moves with the store.
Can you migrate complex products, kits and bundles?
Yes. Complex option sets, product customizers, builders, kitted products and bundles are exactly the cases most migration tools flatten. We rebuild them natively on Shopify with our own tooling, so configuration logic and inventory relationships survive the move.
Will I lose my SEO rankings when I migrate to Shopify?
No, not when the migration is planned for it. We crawl your existing site, map every URL to its new Shopify home with 301 redirects, and preserve titles, metadata and structured data. The redirect plan is part of the first phase of the project, not a launch-day afterthought.
What happens to my ERP when I migrate to Shopify?
They stay where they are. Your ERP, tax engine and fulfillment stack keep running while we rebuild the connections into Shopify and validate the order flow end to end before launch. We work with NetSuite, Fishbowl, SAP, Acumatica and Microsoft Dynamics, and we have built one-off connectors for systems outside that list.
Is there downtime when migrating to Shopify?
No. Your current store keeps trading while we build and test the new one in parallel. Data is re-synced ahead of launch, and cutover happens in a controlled window followed by a hypercare period where we watch orders, redirects and integrations closely.
How long does a Shopify migration take?
The timeline is set by catalog complexity, the number of integrations, and how much custom functionality needs rebuilding, so we scope it during discovery rather than quoting a number before seeing your data. Every project runs through the same five phases, from discovery through launch and hypercare, and each phase ends with a sign-off gate so you always know where things stand.
Do I need Shopify Plus, or is standard Shopify enough?
It depends on your volume and requirements. B2B price lists, checkout customization, expanded API limits and multi-store setups are Plus territory, while simpler catalogs run well on standard plans. We recommend a tier during discovery based on what your store actually needs, not a default.
Can Shopify handle a large parts catalog with YMM fitment?
Yes. We rebuild year/make/model fitment natively on Shopify rather than bolting it on, and we have imported catalogs as large as 69K+ variants for stores like B&W Hitches. Fitment search, faceting and compatibility data all survive the move.
Do customer accounts and passwords transfer to Shopify?
Accounts yes, passwords no. Customer records, addresses and order history move with the store, but every platform stores passwords in a form that cannot be exported for security reasons, so returning customers set a new password on their first sign-in. We plan that communication with you as part of launch.
Can Shopify Plus handle B2B pricing and price books?
Yes. Enterprise data models, price books and B2B hierarchies are rebuilt on Shopify Plus primitives: companies, price lists, catalogs and payment terms. If your current platform gates B2B behind custom code, that logic is rebuilt natively instead of being ported as-is.
Should I use a Shopify migration app or an agency?
Importer apps handle simple products and stop. Dependent option rules, product customizers, kitted inventory, ERP connections and redirect maps are where migrations actually fail, and none of that fits in a CSV. We run migrations on our own tooling, with a phased process and sign-off gates, so the hard parts are engineered rather than approximated.
