How Clé Tile Transitioned From Magento & WordPress to Shopify Plus With Custom Features
faster loading times on GTMetrix
reduction in Magento maintenance
higher revenue
TL;DR
What We Shipped
Clé Tile had outgrown a fragile headless setup: a custom Magento storefront stitched to WordPress that was slow, costly to maintain, and hard for the marketing team to manage. Fyresite ran a full 1:1 migration to Shopify Plus, consolidating three systems into one and rebuilding every custom feature from scratch while preserving the brand’s design and its most complex merchandising logic. The new store loads 400% faster on GTMetrix, cut Magento maintenance by 95%, and drove 40% higher revenue.
Migrated to Shopify Plus
A 1:1 move off headless Magento and WordPress onto a custom theme that preserves the original look and shopping experience.
Three systems consolidated
Storefront, content, and blog unified on Shopify so the marketing team manages landing pages and posts without a developer.
Custom color sorting
Collection merchandising that ranks tile by primary and weighted color, the store's single largest custom build.
Project calculator
Shoppers enter square footage and get exact box, piece, and cost totals before they add to cart.
Custom cart and checkout logic
A custom mini cart plus trade pricing and shipping-discount rules applied at checkout.
Catalog and order history migrated
Products, customers, and combined Magento and Shopify order history reconciled and moved intact with full SEO redirects.
Clé Tile needed to leave their Magento & WordPress store, and fast. Fyresite migrated their complex customizations to Shopify Plus.

The Problem
Clé Tile needed to leave their Magento & WordPress store for a platform that was more reliable and could handle the traffic demands they needed to meet. This new platform needed to make it easy to hold both their eCommerce and blog components, as well as their required customizations.
The Solution
Our team migrated Clé Tile from their Magento & WordPress platform to Shopify Plus. This included a 1:1/exact match page conversion migration. We completed key optimizations, including site speed and SEO.
We built custom items to achieve all of Clé Tile’s goals. This meant building a custom calculator that allows customers to find the right number of tiles that they need to purchase. We also built a custom mini cart with logic and custom checkout modifications and custom product sorting.
Custom Features
What we engineered
Color Sorting Application
A custom app built and hosted on AWS sorts each collection by color, offering both a single primary-color sort and a two-color weighted sort, configured per collection so merchandisers control how tile ranks visually rather than by title or date.
Project Calculator
Shoppers enter the square footage they need and choose an overage buffer; the calculator returns total square footage, box count, and subtotal with live per-square-foot and per-box pricing pulled from product data.
Checkout Customizations App
A custom checkout app applies trade discount tiers and shipping rules, including free ground shipping on all-sample orders for VIP Trade customers, keeping complex B2B pricing logic native to Shopify.
Custom Mini Cart
A tile-aware mini cart handles unit complexity across boxes, sheets, pieces, and square feet, surfacing running totals and terms acceptance before checkout.
WordPress-to-Metafield Mapping
WordPress product fields were mapped to Shopify metafields against a consistent per-product primary key, recreating rich PDP content (specs, grout, dimensions, material guidelines) natively and removing the WordPress dependency.
Large-Scale Data Reconciliation
Existing users and combined Magento and Shopify order history were reconciled on import so shipping and billing kept the most current record, backed by a post-import password-reset flow and a full 301 redirect map.
