When you decide to hire Fyresite, you enter a partnership. That means that Fyresite is 100% invested in making your dream shop come true, but we also need help from you. Using this guide, you can learn what Fyresite will need from you in order to make the most of our partnership.
In the Beginning
Before and when we begin working on your site, we will need some things from you. This includes:
Assets, such as content, need to be gathered and handed off to us prior to the beginning of design. This allows us to give the most accurate design, and prevents us from deviating from the timeline.
Tell us what you like
Some merchants are worried that because they’re not experts in design they shouldn’t give input, and want to leave design decisions to us. Don’t! We’re experts in design, but you’re the expert in your business and you know what you like. Tell us what design elements you like, and we’ll do the heavy lifting. The more specific, the better!
Understand that website work does not start immediately
Before we start working on your site, Fyresite does a process called discovery, which allows us to do many things. This includes building prototypes, pinpoint solutions and building budgets and timelines thoughtfully, creating documentation for our game plan, so you know what we’ll need from you and why.
We will also create a roadmap to give you insight into our timeline so you can plan things like milestone payments and when to tell your customers about your new site.
Collaborate with us
Creating your dream site takes collaboration. We want to make sure we understand your business and your vision. While we will collaborate a lot towards the beginning, we will collaborate less later in the project, during development.
Have a plan/chart of current systems, and if using Shopify Plus how you want them to interact with the platform
This will help us make sure we include all the systems you want, and that they will work with your Shopify platform.
If throughout the design process there are elements that you don’t like (or would like more of) let us know. In order to make your site look the way you want, we need to know what you want changed. Doing this earlier in the process helps keep your project on time and at the quoted price. If you hold your feedback until later in the process, like during development, it will cost more.
Like all partnerships, the way to make the most of yours with Fyresite is through communication. Fyresite works hard to respond to every email and phone call within 24 business hours, and in order for the process to go smoothly we request the same courtesy. Here are some other communication tips:
Establish a point of contact
Fyresite will have a point of contact on our side, and we find that work goes smoothest when clients have established a point of contact on their side as well.
A good point of contact is someone who is associated with the project, knows what your goals are, and can communicate both with Fyresite and their internal team.
We can never emphasize enough the importance of asking questions. If there are any questions you have throughout the process, please ask. There are no stupid questions, and we’re happy to answer them. Even if you have asked the question before, we are happy to answer again to make sure you understand what we’re doing.
