The vicious treatment of Black and African Americans is unacceptable. In every way, shape, and form, Black lives matter. With the world being in such a state of fear and distrust, our team wanted to find a way to give back in the most personal way possible.
This is why we have decided to donate $1,000 to Black Girls Code, an organization that teaches young girls of color the skills needed to take over the STEM community and become a new generation of leaders, innovators, and so much more.
The Black Girls Code has a mission “to introduce programming and technology to a new generation of coders, coders who will become builders of technological innovation and of their own futures.”
We love the idea that we can help a generation find their passion through technology and have the skills to completely change the industry as we know it.
BGC released a heartfelt statement on finding hope in these uncertain times and talked about how their mission is so much more than teaching young girls to code.
“The focus of our work is centered on teaching our girls to embrace self-actualization, self-confidence, and self efficacy; we uplift racial justice and equity so that our girls can not only survive but thrive within spaces in the fullness of their unique selves.”
Black Girls Code has a few virtual summer camps that will teach young black girls Microsoft technology and how to code. We can’t wait to see how these camps will teach and inspire this upcoming generation to be new leaders in the industry.

We will continue to look for more ways to help with the movement. Big changes need to be made in every field, so it is up to us to take a stand.
