Welcome to the “Eternal Now”

World-renowned Peruvian Canadian artist Chris Dyer saw NFTs as an opportunity to break his art from its physical bindings. However, he quickly learned that too many NFTs backseat art for profit. Dyer sought to change that with Galaktic Gang: a spiritually-inspired NFT that prioritizes psychedelic artistic expression and positive vibes.

Dyer had the passion, brand recognition, and brilliant artistic prowess to make this project a success. But to build the best community possible, Dyer couldn’t settle for a template website. He needed skilled, professional web developers well-versed in Web3 design and technology

Custom NFT website

Marketing the Galaktic Gang NFT required a fully-functioning website as beautiful as the art itself. It had to be designed by NFT lovers for NFT lovers.

Web3 Support

Key Features

Landing Page

Fyresite’s primary focus within the larger Galaktic Gang project was building an amazing website. Because Dyer’s artwork is so visionary, our design had to be bold and evocative enough to amplify his artistic energy without detracting from his art.

The landing page in particular was vital. In a fraction of a second, it needed to set a timeless positive impression and encourage the visitor to keep scrolling.

Our expert designers researched countless projects and experimented with several ideas until the perfect website rose from Dyer’s artwork itself. We used energetic fonts, patterns, and colors to draw attention to the wonderful psychedelic style that characterizes his work.

From the countdown to the font choice, every interaction, icon, and splash of color has been carefully selected to amplify Dyer’s art.

The Artwork

Galaktic Gang is all about the art, so featuring a few of Dyer’s funky characters was a must. Our UX designers and engineers experimented with a few options and ultimately opted for a refined side-scrolling carousel of Galaktic Dudes.

Dyer’s artwork made this entire project possible; we intend to honor his style and vision in every pixel.

CMS

NFT projects sell fast and grow faster, so the Galaktic Gang team needed quick and easy access to community-facing parts of the website. Once newly-minted NFTs sold out, Galactic Gang needed to change copy and buttons, and as each roadmap goal was met, they needed a big red “X” to indicate its completion. Each of these requirements and more necessitated a robust content management system to optimize the user experience.

For content management, Fyresite used Webflow and custom code. This feature empowered the whole Galaktic Gang team to update important information.

DApp UI Design

Perhaps the most vital feature of the website was the minting dApp, which handles the initial mint purchases of the Galaktic Gang NFTs. Every purchase of a newly-minted Galaktic Gang NFT had to go through this dApp, so building the most beautiful and engaging “checkout” UI possible was an absolute must.

Thanks to our work on the dApp UI, checkout was simple, fast, and streamlined. Newly minted Galactic Gang NFTs sold out in under two weeks.

Micro Animations

No website is complete without micro animations to engage users and communicate vital feedback, but for a website as unique, positive, and energetic as GalakticGang.com, every button click and text hover had to pop (without being annoying, of course).

Fyresite carefully experimented with several different micro animations to find the perfect balance between energy and subtlety, resulting in buttons, text, and website elements that move just enough to provide feedback, but not enough to detract from the larger user experience.

Mobile Support

A significant number of the Galaktic Gang community members used a mobile wallet. Thus, both the website and dApp needed strong, responsive design.

Instead of designing a mobile version of the website at the last minute, Fyresite crafted the desktop and mobile designs simultaneously. The organic process made the final user experience much more fluid for the entire community.

Animated Artwork

To add an extra pop of life to these psychedelic characters, Fyresite’s video editors animated some of Dyer’s existing artwork. Our team added breathing motions, shifting patterns, changing colors, and slight fluctuations in each feature. We experimented with countless combinations of speed, direction, and intensity to faithfully augment Dyer’s art.

Our animations didn’t overwhelm his art; they augmented it.

Custom Emojis

Most major NFT projects live and breathe on Discord. Knowing this, Fyresite transformed Dyer’s art into several dozen custom emojis.

Most emojis featured components of the NFTs, while a few showcased parts of Dyer’s other art. All the emojis were incredibly popular with the discord community, causing daily active users to grow significantly.

Each feature grew the Galaktic Gang project. Each graphic, web page, and micro interaction fit together snugly to make the user experience as positive as the community’s vibes.
