Pooltables.com needed a modern platform that could scale without losing the customizations their business relied on. As phase two of the program, Fyresite launched Pooltables.com as a Shopify Plus expansion store off the Billiards.com base, with a complete redesign and custom theme. The new store loads 160% faster on GTMetrix and lifted conversion rates by 65%, and it added in-store POS across five retail locations.

The Problem

Pooltables.com was in dire need of a modern platform to bring their brand to the next level. Coming from Cartlogic, they needed to make sure the platform and partner that would be able to keep their customizations while allowing the business to scale. Enter Fyresite.

On top of the Cartlogic to Shopify Plus migration, our in-house team also executed a complete redesign with custom theme development, used a Fyresite custom tool to handle 100s of product variations, built a custom ERP connector app, and built a custom mini cart with logic and custom checkout modifications.

To help scale even more, many SEO/PPC optimizations were implemented, the most of important of which was site speed optimization.

Product Variation Tool

A Fyresite custom tool handles hundreds of product variations across the catalog, working around native limits so large, highly configurable product lines stay manageable for the team.

Cartlogic ERP Connector App

A custom AWS-hosted app brokers data between Shopify and Cartlogic, syncing user accounts, inventory, orders, and shipping, including the kitted-product logic behind configurable pool tables.

Pool Table Customizer

A custom product template lets shoppers configure a table by cloth, size, pocket style, embroidery color, accessory kit, and table-tennis top, with pricing marked down from MSRP.

Retail POS Rollout

Shopify POS was configured and deployed across five showroom locations, with terminals staged and QA'd before shipping, user groups and permissions set per store, and staff training delivered.

Custom Mini Cart and Checkout

A custom mini cart and checkout modifications handle the store's product and add-on logic across configurable and standard products.

Migration and Optimization

Products, users, and orders were migrated from Cartlogic and organized into collections by type and style, then the store was tuned through site speed, SEO, and PPC work.
