How Trudoor Future‑Proofed Their eCommerce Store with Shopify Plus

Trudoor had a problem. They faced critical need to modernize their eCommerce infrastructure. Their existing WooCommerce store had become difficult to manage, plagued by recurring maintenance issues, downtime, and security vulnerabilities that required frequent PHP patches.

WooCommerce lacked the scalability needed to grow with their business and did not offer enterprise-grade tools for backend operations or marketing automation.

The Trudoor administrative team found the backend slow and cumbersome, and the user experience didn’t meet modern expectations.

Trudoor knew it was time for a change. That’s why they turned to their trusted partner, Fyresite, to migrate their store from WooCommerce to Shopify Plus.

Our team led a full-scale eCommerce migration from WooCommerce to Shopify Plus, leveraging enterprise-level features to deliver a secure, scalable, and streamlined solution tailored to Trudoor’s needs.

Our migration strategy began with the development of a fully custom Shopify theme to preserve their visual identity while improving performance and flexibility. This theme included recreations of 51 dynamic pages that were originally built in WordPress.

Custom backend functionality was rebuilt from scratch, including complex NetSuite integrations to ensure seamless synchronization of tax-exempt statuses, shipping logic, and order data. Also, admin roles were restructured with Shopify’s permission systems to streamline operations and improve security.

The migration also included custom shipping logic, conditional rules, and fulfillment workflows to match Trudoor’s existing systems.

On the frontend, we implemented a suite of enhanced features designed to improve the customer experience. This includes dynamic pricing displays based on login status, a quote-versus-cart toggle, trust badges, recently viewed items, and custom form solutions for employment applications, tax exemption, and specialty quote requests.

Even checkout features were upgraded with address validation, Avalara tax support, delivery preferences, and a kiosk checkout option.

In addition to functionality, Fyresite managed the full data migration. This included moving over 4,300 products, 69,000 orders, 25,000 customers, and thousands of attributes, collections, and blog posts.

All SEO metadata, schema, and redirect logic were preserved to ensure continuity in search engine rankings and on-site performance.
